Fernweh is a German word for a longing for faraway places — that pull toward somewhere you haven’t been yet. It’s the feeling behind Coffee & Fernweh Roasting and the way we think coffee should fit into your life.

CFR was built from a love of coffee, a love of going somewhere new, and not being satisfied with the coffee already on the shelf. Because good coffee shouldn’t have to be complicated — it should just be coffee you genuinely look forward to drinking.

We roast in small batches and only when you order, so your coffee is fresh instead of sitting on a shelf waiting for you. From bold, familiar roasts to single origins and seasonal flavors, everything we offer is chosen with one thing in mind: would we actually want to drink it?

Because coffee isn’t just about getting through the morning. It’s the quiet cup before the rest of the world wakes up. The one you make before hitting the road. The coffee packed for a weekend away, or the one waiting for you when you get home.
